Tron VDR CAPSULE

This multipurpose float free maritime safety product contains both a conventional GMDSS satellite position-indicating radio beacon, EPIRB and also a storage media for S-VDR (Simplified Voyage Data Recorder).

Tron VDR CAPSULE will at all times have in store a loop of the latest 12 hours recorded data provided from the Float Free storage media for VDR

The Tron VDR CAPSULE will duplicate all on board S-VDR recorded and stored information. It can be connected to all existing VDR systems on the market*. The Tron VDR CAPSULE is a necessity, even as an optional equipment according to the IMO resolution A.861 (20), due to the possibility to avoid high cost for under water search. The Tron VDR CAPSULE recorder is separately mounted in the battery unit of the well proven Tron 30S Mkll GMDSS float- free EPIRB IMO's Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) has with its Resolution MSC.163(78), made a draft amendment to Solas Regulation V/20:
"To assist the casualty investigations, the existing cargo ships, when engaged on international voyages, subject to the provisions of regulation 1.4, shall be fitted with a VDR which may be a simplified voyage data recorder (S-VDR) as follows:
1. in case if cargo ships of 20,000 gross tonnage and upwards constructed before 1 July 2002, at the first schedule dry-docking after 1 July 2006 but not later than 1 July 2009.
2. in case if cargo ships of 3,000 gross tonnage and upwards constructed before 1 July 2002, at the first schedule dry-docking after 1 July 2007 but not later than 1 July 2010.
Service and installation can easily be done at one of Jotron's authorised Service stations worldwide.
* The Tron VDR Capsule must be approved together with the S-VDR system by competent authorities.
